Our story

Two locals who love dogs

Tail Trek Adventures is Heather and Jake — a dog-mad Liverpool pair who turned the thing we love most into what we do. We started it because we wanted dog care done the way we would want it for our own: personal, consistent and genuinely local, with the same familiar face every time rather than a rota of strangers from an app.

We are a brand-new business, and we are honest about that. We have not gathered a wall of reviews yet — so instead of borrowed words, we will earn your trust the real way: a free meet & greet, references on request, full insurance you are welcome to see, and a photo and update after every single walk.

Meet Heather & Jake

Not an app, not an agency — just two dog-obsessed locals who'll treat your dog like our own.

Heather, Co-founder & lead walker at Tail Trek Adventures

Heather

Co-founder & lead walker

Dog-mad since childhood and never happier than on a muddy field with a pack of happy dogs. Heather leads our group adventure walks and looks after the puppy visits — patient, calm and endlessly reassuring with nervous pups.

Jake, Co-founder & pet-care lead at Tail Trek Adventures

Jake

Co-founder & pet-care lead

The safe pair of hands behind our pet visits. Jake handles the meet-and-greets, key security and the drop-in and cat-feeding calls, so owners can head off knowing their pets — and their home — are properly looked after.

What to expect

How we work

Simple, careful, and built around your dog.

  • A free meet & greet first. Every booking starts with a relaxed, no-obligation home visit, so we can meet your dog, learn their routine and make sure they will be happy with us.
  • Small, well-matched groups. Group walks are kept small and matched on size and temperament, with quiet one-to-one walks for dogs who prefer their own space.
  • The same trusted duo. It is always Heather or Jake — never a stranger — so your dog sees a face they know every time.
  • Your keys, kept safe. Keys are coded rather than labelled with your address, stored securely and never left in a vehicle.
  • An update every visit. A photo and a quick note after every walk or visit, so you always know how their day went.
  • Fully insured. Full public liability and pet-care cover, including your dog while they are with us — we are always happy to show you the paperwork.

Frequently asked questions

Are you insured?

Yes — Tail Trek Adventures carries full public liability and pet-care insurance, which includes cover for your dog while they're with us. We're always happy to show you the paperwork at your free meet-and-greet.

Which areas of Liverpool do you cover?

We cover South & Central Liverpool and into Knowsley — suburbs like Allerton, Mossley Hill, Aigburth, Woolton, Childwall, Wavertree, Calderstones, West Derby, Gateacre, Halewood and Huyton. If you're nearby and not sure, just ask.

How do you keep my keys and home secure?

Keys are coded rather than labelled with your address, stored in a locked box, and never left in vehicles. Prefer a key safe or smart lock? That's absolutely fine too. Your home security is taken as seriously as your dog's care.

What happens at a meet-and-greet?

It's a free, no-obligation visit where we meet you and your dog, learn their routine and personality, answer your questions and agree how everything will work. It's also how we make sure your dog will be happy and safe with us.

Do I get updates while you have my dog?

Always. You'll get a photo and a quick note after every walk or visit, so you never have to wonder how your dog's day is going.

What if it's raining?

Dogs still need their walk, so we head out in most weather with towels at the ready — a muddy, happy dog comes home clean and dry. In genuinely dangerous conditions (storms or extreme heat) we'll swap a walk for a garden break and enrichment to keep your dog safe.

Ready to give your dog the adventures they deserve?

Book a free meet & greet with Heather & Jake. No obligation, just a friendly chat about your dog and how we can help.
