Hillfoot fields and the Mackets Lane greenway

The open countryside is the real draw here. Hillfoot fields spread out along the city's southern edge with proper farmland and green lanes — big skies, long horizons and endless sniffing for a dog that loves to roam, and quiet enough that a nervous dog can relax well away from any bustle. The Mackets Lane greenway runs from there as a country path towards Woolton and its woods, and when you fancy a change, Woolton Woods and its spring bluebells are a short walk or drive on. We rotate the fields, the lane and the woods so every outing feels new, and pitch each walk to your dog's fitness and confidence — a big country ramble for some, a gentler loop for others.
