To live in Calderstones is to have one of Liverpool's finest parks as your back garden — and few places reward a dog walker's local knowledge more. Tail Trek Adventures are Heather and Jake, a fully insured local duo who know every path, gate and quiet corner of the park your dog will come to love.
We're fully insured and deliberately small-scale, so your dog gets consistency and genuine attention — the same walker each time, calm well-matched groups, and a photo and update after every outing.
Calderstones Park is the star: lake, sweeping meadows, a tranquil Japanese garden and the ancient Allerton Oak, said to be a thousand years old. The wilder Harthill end is where our dogs really let loose — woodland, long grass and endless scents for a proper explore. It's a park that suits every dog, from bounding adolescents to gentle seniors.
When we fancy a change, neighbouring Allerton Towers Park adds walled gardens and shaded woodland just minutes away. We rotate the two to keep things interesting and always match the route and pace to your dog.
Between the commute and the school run, a midday walk can be hard to fit in — so we do it for you. Group adventures, solo one-to-ones, puppy visits and drop-ins all flex around your day, with collection and drop-off from your door.
The park is beautiful year-round — bluebells and blossom in spring, deep shade in summer, crunching leaves in autumn. The Harthill woodland gets muddy after rain, so we towel off before your dog heads home, and on hot days we keep to the shaded paths and cooler hours. Nervous dogs get the calm early mornings before the park fills up.
Everything your dog needs, right here in Calderstones.

A few words from the Liverpool families who trust us with their dogs.
“Heather and Jake are absolute gems. Our collie comes back from his adventure walks completely worn out and happy, and the photo updates make my day. Wouldn't trust anyone else with him.”
“The regular group walks have been brilliant for our two. Photo updates every time, clearly having a ball, and they come home happy and worn out. Reliable, lovely people — wouldn't use anyone else.”
“Our rescue can be nervous with other dogs, so the solo walks have been perfect. You can tell they genuinely get her. Her confidence has come on so much.”

Mostly Calderstones Park — the open meadows and lake for sociable walks, and the wilder Harthill woodland for a good off-lead explore. Allerton Towers Park next door gives us a lovely alternative when we want a change.
Where it's safe and your dog's recall is reliable, yes — the open areas of Calderstones are ideal. Until we're confident, and you're happy, dogs stay on a long training line so every walk is a safe one.
