In Allerton, a good dog walker is almost a rite of passage. This is one of South Liverpool's greenest, most settled suburbs — wide avenues, generous gardens and families who take their dogs' happiness seriously. Tail Trek Adventures fit right in: we're Heather and Jake, a genuinely local, two-person team who treat every Allerton dog like one of our own.
We're fully insured, and because there are only two of us, your dog always sees the same familiar face rather than a rota of strangers. Whether it's a lively group adventure or a gentle one-to-one, you'll get a photo and an honest update after every single walk.
Allerton dogs are spoilt, and we make the most of it. Allerton Towers Park is a firm favourite — the old estate's walled gardens, crumbling orangery and shaded woodland paths make for a proper, sniffy explore whatever the season. A few minutes away, Calderstones Park opens up 240 acres of lake, meadow and the thousand-year-old Allerton Oak, with room for a good off-lead run where recall allows.
For a gentler outing, Clarke Gardens runs quietly alongside Allerton Towers — flat, open and ideal for older dogs or nervous newcomers building confidence. We rotate these spots to keep walks interesting, and we always plan the route around your dog's energy and pace rather than ours.
Between the school run, the commute into town and life around Allerton Road, the day fills up fast — and a dog shouldn't be waiting hours for a wee. Our group and solo walks, lunchtime puppy visits and drop-ins slot neatly around your schedule, and we collect and drop off from your door so there's nothing to organise.
Allerton's parks are glorious, but the woodland at Allerton Towers and the wilder side of Calderstones can get properly claggy after rain — so we come armed with towels and always return a clean, dry dog. In summer we shift walks to the cooler ends of the day, and for anxious dogs we choose the quieter mornings when the parks are still and calm.
Everything your dog needs, right here in Allerton.

A few words from the Liverpool families who trust us with their dogs.
“Heather and Jake are absolute gems. Our collie comes back from his adventure walks completely worn out and happy, and the photo updates make my day. Wouldn't trust anyone else with him.”
“The regular group walks have been brilliant for our two. Photo updates every time, clearly having a ball, and they come home happy and worn out. Reliable, lovely people — wouldn't use anyone else.”
“Our rescue can be nervous with other dogs, so the solo walks have been perfect. You can tell they genuinely get her. Her confidence has come on so much.”

Our regular haunts are Allerton Towers Park and Calderstones Park, with Clarke Gardens for gentler, flatter walks. We choose the spot to suit your dog — a big explore for the energetic, a calm potter for older or nervous dogs.
In the safe, open parts of Calderstones and Allerton Towers, and only once we know your dog and their recall is reliable. Until then they enjoy the same freedom on a long training line, so every walk stays safe.
